IT searches at Dev Salt conclude; evasion of ₹150 crore suspected

Jamnagar: The search operation launched by the Income Tax Department last week at premises linked to salt manufacturer Dev Salt Private Limited concluded on Monday. It is learnt that a tax evasion amounting to ₹150 crore has come to light. The searches at over 20 locations and multiple lockers have yielded cash of around ₹3.50 crore. From the 16 lockers that were searched, around 2.5 kg of gold was found in three lockers.
The Income Tax Department had launched this search operation on Friday morning, with searches conducted at 20 locations in Ahmedabad, Morbi, and Jamnagar districts, including the main factory of Dev Salt in Maliya Miyana taluka of Morbi.
