Chain Pulling on the Rise near Surat railway station as 206 trains stop only at Udhana

Surat: Since 206 mail and express trains have been given stoppages at Udhana railway station instead of  Surat railway station due to ongoing construction work in the concourse area of Surat railway station, incidents of chain pulling have increased in trains near Surat railway station, so that those willing to leave the train at Surat can step out as soon as the trains stop due to chain pulling.

Passengers are now alighting from the train before Surat station, pulling the chain in the outer areas.

On January 8th, chain pulling was reported on trains 22917, 12933, 22888, and 20667 trains. On January 11th, it occurred on train 12959. On January 12th, it happened on trains 22951, 22888, and 19217. On January 13th, chain pulling was reported on trains 12933, 19484, 16587, 19217, and 20907.

Due to these incidents, trains are running behind schedule, prompting the railway administration to seek explanations from higher authorities. The RPF and Railway Police have intensified efforts to apprehend those involved in chain pulling. DeshGujarat
