December 30, 2024
Ahmedabad: Sarangpur Bridge near Kalupur Railway Station is set to be closed for traffic movement for one and a half years. A new bridge will be constructed in place of the Sarangpur Bridge, so, as per the notification of the City Police Commissioner, both ends of the bridge will be closed for vehicle movement 24 hours a day, from January 2, 2025, to June 30, 2026.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and Indian Railways will jointly carry out a major renovation project to revamp both Sarangpur Bridge and Kalupur Bridge at a cost of ₹439 crore. However, as of now, only Sarangpur Bridge will be closed for traffic.
Due to the closure of this bridge, traffic load will increase on Anupam Bridge and Kalupur Bridge. Meanwhile, diversions will be provided as shown. DeshGujarat
