Ahmedabad: Ellisbridge MLA Amit Popatlal Shah, in a letter written to BJP leaders in the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC), has alleged encroachments on AMC-owned plots in the Jamalpur area.
In the letter, Shah wrote: “As per the information provided by local residents of the Jamalpur Assembly constituency, the plot with City Survey No. 1880, located on the Rath Yatra route at Jamalpur to Khamasa Road, opposite Mohammed Ali Mosque, near Jamalpur Pagthiya, is owned by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC). It has been reported that the owner of Plot No. 1881 has encroached on approximately 10.60 square meters of Plot No. 1880, belonging to the corporation, and has illegally constructed a seven-story building.”
The MLA has requested that the matter be investigated to confirm the illegality of the encroachment. He further urged that, if found illegal, a land-grabbing case should be registered, and appropriate action taken to reclaim the encroached land.
The MLA also highlighted an alleged unauthorized construction/encroachment by an individual on an open plot near Baba Lovely’s Dargah on the Riverfront. Shah pointed out that older Google Maps images show no construction at this location in the past. He has requested the removal of this unauthorized construction from the site. DeshGujarat
