Banaskantha: A teenage girl died from asphyxiation on Wednesday morning due to a gas leak from the geyser in the bathroom of her house in the Tirupati Rajnagar Society in Palanpur.

Dushyantbhai Vyas, originally from Vadgam and involved in the building construction business, lives in the Tirupati Rajnagar Society. He has three children, and his 13-year-old daughter Durva (the youngest) went to the bathroom around 11:30 AM on Wednesday. When there was no sound from the bathroom for 15 minutes and she didn’t come out, her mother, Mitalbhen, knocked on the door. When there was no response, she went to the back of the house, where she saw Durva lying on the floor through the bathroom’s glass window. The family then gathered and broke open the bathroom door to rush her to a private hospital, where the doctor confirmed her death.
