Government Administrator seals personal room, donation boxes of Mandirs at Girnar

Junagadh: Following the passing of Mahant Tansukh Giri Bapu, the administration of the Girnar-based Ambaji Temple, Guru Dattatreya Shikhar Mandir, and Bhid Bhajan Mandir has been taken over by the government. Mr. K.A. Trivedi, appointed as the administrator, has initiated steps to secure and manage the temples until a new Mahant is appointed.

Sealing of Personal Room and Donation Boxes

On his visit to the temples, Mr. Trivedi sealed three donation boxes—two from the Ambaji Mandir and one from the Bhid Bhajan Mandir. Additionally, Tanu Giri Bapu’s personal room at the Bhid Bhajan Mahadev Mandir was sealed to protect important documents and personal belongings left behind by the late Mahant.

Administrative Measures

As part of the takeover, the administrator has:

•Compiled a list of Pujaris and temple servants involved in the temples’ daily rituals and services.

•Begun collecting details of bank accounts linked to the temples and the late Mahant.

•Taken steps to ensure continuity in financial operations, replacing Tanu Giri Bapu’s signature with his own for bank transactions.

“This arrangement will remain in place until the appointment of a new Mahant, a process that will be supervised by the government,” Mr. Trivedi stated.

Future Plans

The administrator has assured that all temple expenditures and revenue will be accounted for transparently. A new set of servants and Pujaris will be appointed to oversee  Puja and other rituals at the temples. These appointments will be made from the current list of staff to ensure continuity and familiarity with temple operations.
