Gujarat ACB nabs 2 govt-licensed surveyors in Palanpur for demanding ₹1 lakh bribe

Banaskantha: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed two government-licensed surveyors from the District Inspector Land Records (D.I.L.R.) office in Palanpur in a bribe case involving a sum of ₹1 lakh.
The complainant had submitted an application to the D.I.L.R. office to correct area measurement changes in their agricultural land due to promulgation. The application was assigned to the accused, Bhaveshkumar Dalpatbhai Patani, a government-approved licensed surveyor. Bhavesh, along with co-accused Ramabhai Chaudhary, conducted a survey of the complainant’s land and collectively demanded an illegal bribe of ₹1,00,000/- for processing the application.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant contacted the Anti-Corruption Bureau and filed a complaint. During a planned trap operation, Bhavesh was caught red-handed accepting the bribe from the complainant at the designated location.
