Severed calf head found in Umargam; locals demand action

Umargam: A severed calf’s head was found near the Fansa crossroads in town, sparking widespread outrage. In response, the Hinsa Nivaran Samiti submitted a petition to the police demanding strict action.
It is reported that on Tuesday night, unknown individuals left the severed head of a calf on the road from Fansa crossroads toward Daman in Umargam taluka. Upon receiving the news, local villagers and cow protectors rushed to the scene. The Nargol Marine Police Station was informed, and a police team arrived promptly. This incident has allegedly hurt religious sentiments in the community after which Hinsa Nivaran Sangh and the Indian Animal Welfare Board filed an application with the Nargol Marine Police Station, urging measures to prevent such incidents and calling for the strictest action against those responsible.
