Dhule: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Dhule, Maharashtra, today, met Jainacharya Ratnasundersurishwarji Maharaj Saheb and praised his significant contributions to social service and spirituality.

Acharya Vijay Ratnasundarsurishwarji Maharaj Saheb, born as Rajni in Depla village near Palitana in 1948, was initiated into asceticism in 1967 under the guidance of Bhuvanbhanusuri. He was conferred the title of Acharya in 1996. Over the years, he became known for his religious and social activism, including starting a petition in 2011 to ban meat exports from India.

A prolific writer, Ratnasundarsuri authored over 450 books on diverse subjects, focusing on the socio-cultural upliftment of individuals and society. He also holds a record in the Golden Book of World Records for writing over 300 books in a single language (Gujarati). His most acclaimed work, Lakhi Rakho Aras Ni Takati Par, has been translated into 20 languages. His contributions have earned him recognition globally, including the Padma Bhushan award in 2017, the third-highest civilian award in India, for his significant impact in the field of spirituality.
