Shankarbhai Vegad, Mansukhbhai Mandavia, Arun Jaitley, Gujarat BJP’s candidates for Rajya Sabha

Shankarbhai Vegad and Mansukhbhai Mandavia are two candidates for Rajya Sabha election selected by the BJP. Shri Arun Jaitley’s name has been already declared for the third seat. Thus the BJP has now announced all three candidates for Rajya Sabha election of Gujarat.
“The BJP National President Shri Nitin Gadkari has approved the recommendations of Gujarat’s State Election Committee regarding the Biennial Election to the Council of States (Rajya Sabha): Shri Mansukhbhai Mandiavia and Shri Shankarbhai Vegad(Koli),” the BJP statement issued from Delhi reads.
Meanwhile in Congress has repeated Shri Pravin Rashtrapal.
Shri Arun Jaitley, Shri Mansukhbhai Mandavia and Shri Shankarbhai Vegad, all three candidates of Gujarat BJP will file nomination at Gujarat assembly complex at 11.00 am on Monday in presence of Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi and state BJP President Shri RC Faldu.
At 3.00 pm, the state BJP meeting will be held under the leadership of Gujarat BJP President Shri RC Faldu at Kadva Patidar vaadi near Koba circle in Gandhinagar.
Who is Shankarbhai Vegad?
Born in Ratanpur village of Surendranagar district, Shri Shankarbhai Nanubhai Vegad (Koli) is presently the Vice President of Surendranagar district BJP. Senior BJP leader of Zalawad region, Shri Shankarbhai Vegad has earlier worked as General Secretary of Surendranagar district BJP, Bakshi panch morcha district President and on other positions.
Shri Shankarbhai Vegad is President of Surendranagar district samasta Koli community for last 15 years. He was treasurer of Talpada Koli boarding for ten years. He was the President of Koli community mass wedding committee. He is President of anti-intoxicant committee of Koli community. He is member of Ratanpur Yuva Jagruti Mandal and All India Koli Samaj, Delhi.
Shri Shankarbhai Vegad has worked as a member of Surendranagar Municipality for 20 years and has served as Vice President for five years there.
Shri Vegad has worked actively during Surat flood calamity, Sayla-Lakhtar natural calamity, helping Maldhari youth victim of Mumbai terror attack, rescuing a yoth trapped in Bhogavo river flood etc events.
He has given his contribution in bringing BJP’s nationalist ideology to every house in Surendranagar region. He has contributed in Shahid Kalash yatra programme in the district.
Who is Shri Mansukhbhai Mandavia
Shri Mansukhbhai Mandavia is former MLA of Palitana and Chairman of Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation at present. He was state joint incharge of BJP’s 2009 Sangathan parva. He is presently a member of BJP state executive and Rajkot district BJP in-charge.
40-year old Mansukhbhai is young and committed patriot.
He has served as secretary in youth morcha, BJP President of Palitana. He had organized a 123-km long Kanya kelavani jyot padyatra connecting 45 villages for girl child education. In 2007 he organized and led another padyatra on girl child education in Gariyadhar belt.
Shri Mandnavia has visited Israel to study modern agriculture technology. He has visited China to study industrial development, England, Germany, Dubai to study urban development, and East African countries like Uganda, Tanzania and Rawanda to study wild life and culture.
40-year old Chairman of Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation, Shri Mandavia has worked to ensure direct market rates for farmers and removal of the system of middle men. He organized Mango festival, Kharek festival and other programmes to achiieve this. He has also started biogas movement.
Sri Mansukhbhai Mandavia is President of Vivekananda Seva Trust, Gau seva – Gau ganga trust- Bhavnagar’s Trustee, Nature Club Bhavnagar’s President, Transportation cooperative group of Palitana’s President, Hanol milk producers cooperative group’s President, Kharid-Vechan Sahkari Hat-Palitana’s President, Bhavnagar Samast Patidar Samaj’s Coordinator and Surat Samast Patidar Community’s member.
Shri Mansukhbhai is youth worker of the party committed to service.
